GRAPE VARIETIES<\/strong>
\nRoquette & Cazes 2010 is a wine made from grapes of the varieties Touriga Nacional (60%), Touriga Franca (15%) and Tinta Roriz (25%).<\/p>\n

GRAPE GROWING AND WINEMAKING<\/strong>
\nThe grapes of Roquette & Cazes 2010 come from two vineyards located in different parts of the Douro Valley: the Cima Corgo and the Douro Superior. Grapes varieties are planted separately. Harvest occurred at an optimal stage of maturity. Grapes were carried into Quinta do Crasto\u2019s winery in 25 kg boxes. After a rigorous selection, stalks were removed and grapes were crushed and transferred into stainless steel conic shaped vats. Then, a long maceration period took place using \u201cdelestage\u201d, an alternative French technique to the classic pumping over method.<\/p>\n

\nDaniel Llose (Ch\u00e2teau Lynch-Bages) and Manuel Lobo (Quinta do Crasto).<\/p>\n

\n18 months in French oak barrels (70% new and 30% one year of use).<\/p>\n

\n14.774 bottles \/(0.75 litres) \/ 123 magnum (1.5 litres) \/ 20 double-magnum (3.0 litres)<\/p>\n

TASTING NOTES<\/strong>
\nColour:<\/strong> very dark core with intense and bright violet\/purple rim.
\nNose:<\/strong> fresh wild fruits, and violets, with a soft toasty hint from the wood ageing, evoking cocoa.
\nPalate<\/strong>: full bodied, refreshing acidity, black fruits, and silky round tannins Wild red fruits. Very long and complex, with real elegance.<\/p>\n

SERVING SUGGESTIONS<\/strong>
\nDecant and serve it at 16 \u00baC. Roquette & Cazes 2010 is ready to drink. It\u2019s a good match for savoury meat and game dishes, as well as elaborate Italian food.
